I have been working on an emulator of the E6-B flight computer (slide rule basically) in Jython/Java as my first attempt at writing an Open Source program. Well the first release has just appeared on Sourceforge (v0.1) - woot!
This is the first rough release, which has a number of creases that need ironing out (including a completely duff implementation of Magnetic Variation) but I have found writing this program a huge amount of fun and just shows the power of using Python/Jython for prototyping Java applications.
The sourceforge site is here.
